A FICCI and EY had reported in 2018, that the Indian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAS) market will grow to $885.7 million by 2021. The global market size is expected to grow to $21.47 billion. Creating new job opportunities, drone-related careers will open up for pilots, UAV operators, engineers, data processing & analysis experts. 

As remotely piloted devices, drones are naturally effective at minimizing human interactions and serve a great purpose in mitigating the CoronaVirus pandemic effect. Apart from being effective carriers of disinfectants, drones can also be repurposed to detect human body temperature with airborne infrared cameras; or it can be used to deliver medical or other important supplies. The applications and services for drones are ever-expanding and there are unlimited opportunities in this field. It could save the lives of millions of frontline workers through medical or law & order surveillance and mitigate the effects of any major epidemic.
